Snow Candles

The other day we made snow candles! This is the easiest craft to do with kids and it didn't take long, which is great for short attention spans. Dylan did his all by himself, Hens still required some guidance, but not much.

About to get started.

Painting glue on her mason jar.

Rolling it around in the fake snow/glitter combo mix.

This kid was a natural.

Proud of the finished product. :)

All lit up. So pretty.

Today we made Christmas cookies. The kids loved it. At first anyway, then they lost interest and I finished them alone. But it was fun memory making while it lasted. Here are a few pics.

See, they were gung ho to start.

Notice the coordinating prints. Nice.

My favorite, melted snowmen! Oh, pinterest, i love you.

Finished product. Dylan came back as a taste tester here. :)

Sunday night we had our first annual Hampton family Halloween party. The kids loved it! We decorated the windows with all the fall crafts we made earlier in the week. We had a menu of Monster Munch, Scarecrow Crunch, spider cookies and mini apple pies. It was every kid's sugar rush DREAM! While I wouldn't recommend junk food for supper on a regular basis, splurging once a year definitely gives us something to look forward to. :) We followed it up with a spooooky under-the-covers reading of some library books Dylan liked to call spooky Halloween books. Appropriate. Then it was hide-n-seek in the dark. Such a fun night!

Jeremy informed me that these were just insects because spiders have 8 legs. Pshhh. Smarty pants.

A game of spooooky shadows on the wall.

More library goodies. We decided on A.H. classics once the kids went down.

The other day we had a backyard photo shoot. Dylan wanted to be a pirate, a knight, luigi, a super hero, a dinosaur. Basically it changed daily…sometimes hourly. Once we bought the pirate outfit, he no longer had the right to choose. Hensley was easier, we didn't have to buy anything for her. She already had tutu's, fairy wings, bows, frillies, all things pink. I love girls. Here are a few pics of the outing.

No, we're not above bribing children with cookies.

First time trick or treating.

Daisy the prom queen. Just look at that fancy dress.

Hello, everyone. Remember us…the Hamptons? We didn't call, we didn't write. It's been too long. Sorry about that. I'm a terrible blogger. I've got a lot of catching up to do. Let me back up a few months and fill you in on a some highlights you may have missed.

AUGUST

Hensley got a big girl bed. (tear)

No more sleeping like this...

Or this.

A real bed.

We got a visit from Colbs! (All the way from England)

We made some fun critters.

And fun wreaths.

We said good-bye to Puddles. (RIP Puddles)

SEPTEMBER

We found a tiny turtle. Dylan named him Stu.

We strolled the neighborhood.

And got to hang out with Asa & Abe.

Short month.

OCTOBER

We broke out the fall decor.

We played with friends.

Built forts.

Dressed up.

And we shook our maracas.

Hunny & Pop Pop came for a visit.

And cooked us good food. (mini apple pies - amazing!)

Hunny read to Dylan and ALL of his friends.

There was a birthday to celebrate, so Jeremy hung balloons.
(Side note: We hung these at 1am while mom and dad are sleeping in the next room. We tried to be quiet, but one balloon popped. CRAZY LOUD! We were certain mom and dad were awake. The next morning we asked if they heard anything and mom said she thought she heard a silencer, but that's it. HA! My mom has ghetto ear. Who knew?)

So magical.

Happy Birthday to Youuuuu!

We ate cake.

It was delicious.

Everyone thought so.

And Mom got a candy corn pedicure. Adorbs!

We took pics at a pumpkin patch with friends.

It was like hearding cats.

And for now, that sums up October. I know. You missed us, right? Don't worry, we've got halloween pics coming in the next few months or so. :)
