Birthday Balloon Wreath!

The other day the kids and I went to my friend Andria's house to work on a balloon wreath we'd seen in a blog. We had the best time! Before we knew it 4hrs had passed and nap time was approaching. Here's a pictorial journal of our fun craft.

Getting started :)

We secured the balloons with floral pins.
(Most of our supplies were bought at Hobby Lobby.)

Meanwhile in Zak's room...

Making progress.

The kids got a little rowdy so we moved the party outside.

She turned around and got soaked by the sprinkler. haha

Did I mention we had fun??

What a dollface

Done for the day.

We added some curly cue ribbon from the dollar store for a little more fun.

Dylan took this sweet pic.

It's hard to see, but there's a little clip attached to the bottom of the sign for attaching the birthday boy/girl's name.

Finished product!

And the best part is, I made the whole thing for less than $15!

Ready for a birthday. Who's next??

Dylan gets dressed.

Last week we had to leave the house quickly to pick up Jeremy from the car dealership. I told Dylan (who had played in his underwear most of the day) to get dressed or go naked. He opted to get dressed, but he wanted to dress himself. He came back a few minutes later in what he called his "Christmas outfit". I tried talking him out of it. It was 102 degrees out and 95% humidity, but he was adamant and I was in a hurry.

Christmas in July...

Dauphin Island 2011

A couple of weeks ago, we took our annual Chapman/Hampton/Goodnight vacation to Dauphin Island. We had a great time, as Dev mentioned here. There was delicious food, great parties and lots of laughter.

We celebrated America's birthday.

With tattoos.

And fireworks.

We celebrated Jackson's birthday.

With booty.

Arrgh.

We swam with the sharks.

We caught fish.

We ate fish.

We buried Stu alive.

We went to the estuarium.

That's Es-tu-arium.

We saw a haunted house.

We went to a cemetery after dark.

And Fort Gaines.

And we were scared.

We rag rolled our hair.

And named a winner.

We toured the island on scooters.
Meet Black Stallion.

And Red Rocket.

We watched these two fight.

We took flattering pictures of each other.

We walked on the beach.

And laughed a lot.

It was a lot of fun.

We loved every minute of it.

Can't wait to do it again.
